主讲人：Prof Pavel Castka 教授

帕维尔・卡斯特卡（Pavel Castka）是智能运营与营销系教授，目前担任西交利物浦大学国际商学院苏州校区专业参与副院长。他曾在新西兰坎特伯雷大学担任研究副院长和MBA主任。他的研究重点是可持续发展和供应链管理，特别是通过创新和技术增强监测来保证和验证社会及环境主张和实践。

帕维尔在顶尖学术期刊上发表过文章，并获得澳大利亚、新西兰和德国多个资助机构的大量研究经费，推动了数字化、食品系统创新和远程实践方面创新方法的研究和应用。他担任国际标准化组织（ISO）TC176 质量管理专家，过去曾被提名为制定ISO 26000 社会责任标准的专家。他的工作已广泛应用于国际标准化政策。他多次应 ISO、UNIDO、IUCN或IAF等主要政策制定机构的邀请，讨论与合格评定和监测实践相关的主题。

讲座内容:

Sustainability and ESG have captured global attention, driving discussions across politics, business, and academia. Despite worldwide efforts, such as the UN Sustainable Development Goals, achieving genuine sustainability remains a challenge. A unified global strategy is missing, casting doubt on the complete realization of the SDGs. Often, businesses prioritize short-term economic gains, leading to ESG reporting that is more symbolic than impactful. This creates a confusing landscape for consumers, hindering their ability to make well-informed, sustainable choices. The question now is: How can we turn this situation around and make real progress toward a sustainable future?

One promising solution lies in the concept of "intelligent monitoring." Intelligent monitoring refers to the use of big data and AI-driven approaches to provide veracity and timeliness of insights, enabling more informed decision-making at personal, organizational, industry, and societal levels. Drawing from his scholarly work and professional experience with leading global institutions such as the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), and United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO), Prof Castka will discuss how sustainability initiatives broadly, and ESG in particular, are impacted by AI and technological developments. He will also outline research opportunities – especially in relation to use of technologies for ESG monitoring.
