报告人简介:Dr Elizabeth Yi Wang is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA). She has held a number of senior roles in her university, including Director of Student Education with the Division of International Business, Programme Director of the MSc International Business (Ranked No. 4 in the World, Financial Times Master’s in Management 2018). For the past eight years, she has been the co-chair of the Danny Van Den Bulcke Doctoral Symposium, a joint programme by the European International Business Academy (EIBA) and European Institute for Advanced Studies in Management (EIASM). She is the Academic Advisor for China International Electronic Commerce Center, a subsidiary of the Ministry of Commerce of China.

     Dr Wang’s research focuses on the determinants of the capabilities of emerging market firms, theories of emerging market multinational enterprises (EMNEs), and technology transfer from and into emerging markets. She is also an advocate of sustainable development through careful balancing between carrying capacity of a local eco-system and promotion of economic opportunities arising from globalisation. A statistician by training, Dr Wang is a proud alumnus of the Capital University of Economics & Business, Beijing, China. She subsequently obtained MSc International Finance and PhD International Business and Economics from the University of Leeds. Her doctoral thesis is titled “Foreign Direct Investment Spillovers in China”, for which she was the winner of the Neil Hood and Stephen Young Prize for the Most Original New Work, awarded by the Doctoral Colloquium at the AIB UK & Ireland Annual Conference 2007. Dr Wang currently supervises several doctoral research projects and also leads a number of international collaborations in the area of international entrepreneurship, policy effectiveness, and generational change in global mindset.
