This study seeks to establish relationships between strategic innovation practices and performance in small and medium-enterprises (SMEs) in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) while holding customer satisfaction as a mediator. The research objectives are threefold, to analyze the impact of strategic innovations on SMEs performance; analyze the mediating effects of customer satisfaction, and then assess various kinds of innovations such as, product, organizational, market, and risks. Using a quantitative methodology, data were collected through structured surveys from manager SMEs in the telecom sector in the areas under investigation. For this statistical analysis, the SPSS version 24 software was employed. These results indicate a positive relationship between the strategic innovation and performance of SMEs, with a vast proportion of the variance in performance being explained by strategic innovations. The findings show that customer satisfaction and brand awareness do not mediate the relation between strategic innovation and performance of SMEs, while consumer loyalty being a partial mediator in this relationship. Furthermore, the study shows
market competition intensity, firm location and age have played negative moderating roles, thereby portraying the extent to which contextual factors can influence the effectiveness of strategic innovations. The study provided useful insight to policymakers and managers with regards to making strategic investments in innovations geared toward improving operational efficiency should be accompanied by competitive strategies with supportive environment for innovation initiatives. In spite of the strength of research results, this study recommends promising avenues for further exploration into external environmental factors and possibly more favorable modes of innovation

This doctoral thesis examines how digital platforms can transform healthcare supply chains to enhance equity and inclusivity in resource-constrained environments, specifically through an in-depth analysis of Ghana's Med4All platform. The research addresses critical challenges facing healthcare delivery in developing countries, where fragmented supply chains, inadequate infrastructure, and limited access to essential medicines create significant barriers to equitable healthcare provision.
The study employs a qualitative embedded case study methodology, analyzing the Med4All platform ecosystem through three distinct stakeholder perspectives: the platform operators (Med4All and PharmAccess), healthcare facilities across different resource levels, and pharmaceutical suppliers with varying business models. Through 37 semi-structured interviews across 28 organizations, the research examines how digital platforms orchestrate resources and coordinate stakeholder interactions to improve healthcare supply chain performance.
Grounded in Resource Orchestration Theory, the thesis develops a comprehensive theoretical framework explaining how digital platforms enable healthcare supply chain equity through four key dimensions: digital platform capabilities, stakeholder ecosystem orchestration, sustainable operational excellence, and healthcare supply chain inclusivity. The analysis reveals how platforms can systematically address traditional supply chain inefficiencies while promoting more equitable access to healthcare resources.
The research makes significant theoretical contributions by extending platform orchestration theory to healthcare contexts, developing supply chain equity theory, and advancing understanding of resource orchestration in digital environments. Practically, it provides actionable insights for platform designers, healthcare providers, pharmaceutical suppliers, and policymakers seeking to improve healthcare delivery in developing countries.
The study's findings demonstrate that successful healthcare supply chain transformation requires a careful balance of technological capabilities, stakeholder engagement, operational efficiency, and equity considerations. Through thirteen theoretical propositions, the thesis explains how digital platforms can enable systematic improvements in healthcare access while maintaining operational sustainability, offering valuable guidance for similar initiatives across resource-constrained healthcare systems globally.

This study aims to analyze the impact of Electronic Human Resource Management (E-HRM) on the performance of Strategic Human Resource Management (SHRM) within Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in Madagascar. It specifically investigates how E-HRM tools influence Human Capital Development and employee retention, while also examining the moderating roles of employee satisfaction and work motivation. The research is grounded in established theories, including the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT), Innovation Diffusion Theory (IDT), and Social Exchange Theory (SET). The study formulates three key research questions and develops sixteen hypotheses to explore the relationships between E-HRM, employee satisfaction, work motivation, and SHRM performance. 500 questionnaires were distributed within 150 different micro, small and medium enterprise in Antananarivo Madagascar, out of which 311 were returned. Data collection and analysis were conducted using appropriate statistical methods, including IBM-SPSS 25 for reliability and validity assessments. The findings indicate a significant relationship between E-HRM and SHRM performance, highlighting the importance of employee satisfaction and work motivation as moderators in this relationship.
The research highlights the imperative for SME leaders and managers to prioritize investments in E-HRM technologies and practices to enhance the effectiveness of strategic human resource management (SHRM). It offers practical insights into designing HR programs that harness E-HRM functionalities to improve employee satisfaction and motivation, thereby achieving a competitive edge. This study contributes to the limited empirical literature on E-HRM, particularly within the SME context in Madagascar. By addressing gaps in understanding the contextual factors that mediate the relationship between E-HRM and SHRM performance, the research underscores the importance of a nuanced approach that accounts for variables such as industry type, organizational culture, and geographical context.
